Job Description:
Turner Industries has an immediate need for a HSE Manager to
join our team in the Paris, TX area. The ideal candidate will live
in the local area and meet the following criteria:The Health,
Safety and Environmental Manager will implement policies to ensure
a safe and healthy work environment.Functional Requirements:
- Establishing and distributing Company health and safety
policies and procedures to all supervisor personnel employees.
- Assisting in New Hire Orientation and documentation.
- Conducting weekly Supervisor Safety Meeting.
- Assisting in the evaluation of injured employees and ensuring
that the appropriate medical attention is received.
- Transporting injured employees for medical treatment/evaluation
and communicating with physicians during visit.
- Initiating the investigation of all incidents involving injury
and incidents without injury (Near-miss) to obtain all necessary
information to help determine a root cause.
- Assisting in the development of corrective procedures that will
help prevent reoccurrence.
- Completing and have completed all required paperwork if an
incident does occur:
- Medical Authorization, First Report of Injury, Injured employee
statement (Blue)
- Supervisor statement (Yellow), Witness statement (Blue),
Failure Analysis, OSHA 300 Logs, OSHA 301, Pictures
- Conducting two safety observations on a weekly basis and
documenting hazards, unsafe behavior and corrective actions.
- Assisting all site safety techs, with their responsibilities as
needed.
- Maintaining First Aid logs and reporting all incidents to site
upper management including Corp. Health and Safety.
- Participating in weekly Fab. Shop and Corporate Safety
conference calls.
- Reviewing all tool and equipment inspections
- Attends \'kick-off\' meetings internally and with client if
necessary for awarded projects as requested or needed.
- Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and
environmental risks.
- Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and
a schedule of routine inspections.
- Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the
company.
- Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures,
workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
- Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
- Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
- Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and
readily accessible when needed.
- Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to
hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
- Manages all air, waste water, and storm water permitting
activities.
- Ensures compliance with all site environmental permit
regulations.
- Collect water sampling and coordinate testing with the
lab.
- Maintains records and submits reports for air permits.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.Qualification
Standards:
- 4+ years of experience or equivalent combinations of
experience, training, and/or education in specified skill in a
manufacturing or construction environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- OSHA 30 or equivalent, CPR certified, First Aid certified.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills as required for
internal and external interface.
- Must be self-directed and detail oriented.
- Must be able to organize and prioritize workload, adapt quickly
to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines.Physical
Involvement:Employee may be required to do the following: reaching
in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials;
standing; sitting; walking; seeing with or without correction;
hearing with or without correction; following set procedures and
standards; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work;
comparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form
of lines, figures and objects; picturing and evaluating solid
objects from drawings or diagrams using standards that can be
measured or checked; following oral and/or written directions,
plans and blueprints; reading; writing; ability to recognize and
report safety hazards. Physically able to conduct inspections and
carry equipment used for inspections.Mental Involvement:Employee
may be required to do the following: following set procedures and
standards; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work;
comparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form
of pipe spools, figures and objects; picturing and evaluating solid
objects from drawings or diagrams using standards that can be
measured or checked; following oral and/or written directions;
reading and writing; ability to recognize and report safety
hazards.Work Environment Factors:
- Location: climate-controlled office environment at fabrication
facility, shop walks may be possible
- Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: possible uneven ground
level, obstructed pathways
- Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: predominantly
indoor climate, exposure to various noise levels caused by tools,
machinery equipment etc., while in shop areas.Turner Industries is
