Job Description:

Assists surgeon during operative and invasive procedures. Ensures operating suite is adequately prepared for procedure. - Monitor PAR level of all surgical instruments and supplies. - Cleans and sterilizes surgical instruments. - Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities. Performs other duties as assigned.

Regulatory Requirements:

Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
Current BLS Certification.
- Operating Room Technician Certification -or experience prior to 9/1/09 required. -A graduate of an accredited educational program for surgical technologists -must receive certification -by the 180th day after the date the person graduates from the program. This certification must occur to maintain employment.
- Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in the Operating Room, preferred.
