Texoma Medical Center, a 414-bed acute care facility has been
providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and
Southern Oklahoma since 1965. Our main campus is located in
Denison, Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort
Worth area and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. In
addition, we have numerous facilities in locations throughout the
Texoma region. Since 1965, TMC has forged a special relationship
with the people of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. Texoma
residents have come to depend on TMC to meet a spectrum of
physical, mental and spiritual needs. TMC has responded with unique
services to provide the kind of sophisticated, experienced care
that was once available only in major metropolitan areas. We offer
major specialty services including open heart surgery and
neurosurgery. Advanced resources such as certified trauma care
support TMC's role as a regional specialty center.
The basic purpose of nursing is to provide safe, competent nursing
care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards,
and philosophy. Additionally, nursing will provide professional
leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of
Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing
care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times. The
Standards of Practice set forth by the professional nursing
associations will provide guidelines for the competent, safe and
professional practice.
Assume shift responsibility and accountability for the planning and
provision of direct and indirect nursing care to the patient,
family, care partner and appropriate others. Coordinates
multi-disciplinary team members, directs and facilitates nursing
staff in obtaining safe, optimal healthcare outcomes. Supports
activities that meet the facility vision, mission and goals.
Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare
team. Oversees and guides employees that are under his/her
supervision. The concepts of patient centered care will provide the
foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrate professionalism and
service excellence standards at all times. Relieving staff for
lunch and ensure staff is clocking out/in, Collaborate with the
other Clinical Supervisors in L&D/Postpartum to facilitate
moving patients in a timely manner, Lead a quick Safety Huddle at
shift change, Let Manager know of any supplies needed, broken
equipment, etc. Place staff on call as appropriate, help with
annual evaluations, Keep a positive attitude, and Attend Unit
Meetings

Qualifications
Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements:
* Per licensure requirement, BSN preferred
* Two years experience in acute care specialty nursing. One year
charge nurse or supervisory experience preferred. Must maintain all
clinical competencies for area of supervision.
* Current RN licensure in the State of Texas, or compact. Current
AHA or ARC BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider card
showing completion of cognitive and skills evaluation in accordance
with the curriculum of AHA BLS (CPR & AED) program and ACLS
certifications.
* Must maintain all certifications required by area of supervision.
Clinical certification in area of supervision preferred (i.e.CCRN,
PCCN, etc.)
* Must be clinically competent in area of population served.
* Must demonstrate knowledge and ability to work effectively with
all levels of personnel.
* Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate team
leadership. Must have the ability to problem solve and think
critically.
* Must possess basic computer application skills.
