TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Denison, Texas, 75020 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Critical Care Stepdown Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift 18:45-07:15 Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week Experience: Critical Care Stepdown - Required: 2 Years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Current state nursing license - Experience with vasoactive drips, tracheostomy vents, DKA, insulin drips, etc. - Ability to provide care independently to assigned patients - Must live 50 miles away Job Description: - Perform comprehensive body system assessments promptly and accurately, including pain assessment. - Assess patient and family educational needs and expectations of hospitalization. - Incorporate clinical indicators (labs, radiology, vital signs) in SBAR hand-off reports to physicians or other staff. - Assess the biological, psychological, physical, and cultural needs of patients and families. - Recognize and provide ongoing assessment of any changes in patient condition. - Collaborate with all disciplines to provide for assessed needs of assigned patients. - Show autonomy in conversing with physicians and physician assistants in every interaction. - Monitor, recognize, and report abnormal test results. - Provide health education and procedural information to patients and families based on assessed needs. - Follow the chain of command and serve as the patient advocate within applicable laws and patient rights. - Implement individual interventions from the plan of care. - Develop and evaluate plans of care based on assessed needs of patients and families. - Ensure the workplace is clean and ready for anticipated activities. - Serve as a resource to others and precept students and new hires. - Document appropriately for transfer of patient care inter- and intra-agency. - Demonstrate skills in using special equipment such as monitors, infusion pumps, or oxygen equipment. - Exhibit sound time management skills to prioritize care for patients. - Manage time effectively to minimize the burden to the next shift. - Work a minimum of six weekend shifts within a six-week scheduling period. - Must work at least two major holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year---s Eve. 25915143EXPPLAT Job Requirements Required for Onboarding ACLS - AHA BLS - AHA Core Competency Pharmacology Skills Checklist Specialty Exam About Cynet Health Your travel nursing adventure begins here.
