An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse experienced in stepdown care to work a contract assignment in Plano, TX, supporting a Level 2 trauma center known for advanced surgical and trauma care. This role offers the chance to provide critical care to a diverse patient population in a supportive, technology-enabled environment. Responsibilities include: - Delivering nursing care on a 25-bed surgical trauma stepdown unit with patient ratios generally 1:4, up to 1:5 - Managing patients post-acute surgical intervention such as trauma, bariatric, vascular, neuro, orthopedic, and cardiac cases - Monitoring patients with neurological conditions, cardiac events, respiratory distress, sepsis, and complex IV medication regimens - Utilizing EMR systems to accurately document care and communicate with interdisciplinary teams - Adhering to unit protocols including vital sign monitoring, telemetry, and patient assessments every four hours - Collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, evolving environment Qualifications: - Current RN license with experience in stepdown or progressive care units - ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required - Excellent customer service and communication skills - Preferred: trauma or orthopedic experience and familiarity with Meditech EMR Location:Situated in the vibrant city of Plano, Texas, this facility offers an excellent quality of life with a blend of urban amenities and suburban comfort.
