years minimum PICU experience as a staff nurse License: Active RN
license required Certifications: PALS, BLS Must-Have: Must have 1
year of Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience as a staff nurse.
Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the
role. Experience with caring for patients with congenital heart
disease and post-operative management of CHD patients. Experience
with management of arterial lines, central lines, and transthoracic
lines. Description: This is a rapid response nursing role focused
on providing care for ICU and step-down level patients. The team is
responsible for patient care continuity. Patient ratios may vary
from 1:1 to 1:3 based on census and acuity needs. The unit consists
of 27 beds and approximately 90 staff members. The equipment used
includes IV pumps, beds, cribs, radiant warmers, and vent machines.
EMR utilized is Meditech. Typical procedures performed include
central line and arterial line placement, conscious sedation,
intubation/extubation, post-op recovery of general and cardiac
procedures, sternal closures, and ECMO cannulation and
decannulation. Candidates with 2 years or more of Pediatric
CICU/CVICU experience will be prioritized. Experience with caring
for neonatal cardiac patients is preferred. The ideal candidate
will demonstrate compassionate and empathetic care delivery. A
hardworking team player who exhibits meticulousness, adaptability,
and flexibility is sought. The position requires rotating weekends
