Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Software Quality Engineer who will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and control of a quality management system to ensure that delivered products meet all required corporate and contract standards and specifications. The Software Quality Engineer will:

• Protect the customer to ensure product quality and contract requirements are met
  
• Ensure and verify the quality of product inputs and outputs
  
• Possess excellent analytical and communication skills to work with customers, leadership, engineers, and peers in a variety of work engagements
  Essential Functions:
  
  • Lead or support continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as root cause analysis, Zero Defect Plan (ZDP), 8D, 5S, Kaizen, lean methods, Six Sigma, etc
    
  • Provide quality support to development teams on software, systems and aeronautical engineering programs to facilitate proper implementation of product and process policies, methods, and operating practices
    
  • Utilize investigative and problem solving tools, techniques and methods to identify corrective and preventive action opportunities and drive continual improvement
    
  • Perform quality audits and assessments to assure compliance with customer, company, and regulatory requirements in support of CMMI, AS9100 and the Quality Management System
    
  • Attend Agile team meetings and observe Agile practices to ensure compliance with defined company processes and industry practices for SAFE, DEVOPS and LeanAgile
    
  • Witness product verification and validation procedures including systems, software and aeronautical engineering per documented test procedures and criteria
    
  • Monitor and report audit findings and determine proper corrective and preventive actions with the process owner and leadership
    
  • Frequent contact with internal and external customers at various levels and participation in meetings and activities
    
  • Occasional evening work may be required (approximately once every 6 weeks)
    
  • Occasional weekend work may be required (approximately once every 6 weeks)
    
  • Weekend on-call duty is required (approximately one weekend every 5-6 weeks)
    
  • Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship
    
  • Perform other duties as assigned
    Qualifications:
    
    • U.S. Citizenship
      
    • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum 4 years of related experience
      
    • OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience
      
    • OR Associates Degree and a minimum of 6 years of related experience
      
    • OR In lieu of a degree, High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 8 years of related Quality and/or Engineering experience
      Preferred Additional Skills:
      
      • Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance
        
      • Strong knowledge of quality assurance / quality control concepts, tools and methodologies
        
      • Process improvement skills such as 8D, Six Sigma/Lean Green Belt, Kaizen, etc.
        
      • Agile, SAFe and Lean Agile process experience
        
      • Experience in Engineering or aviation
        
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
        
      • Strong technical writing skills
