Litigation Attorney: Land Use/Zoning Law Position Overview We are
seeking a skilled Municipal Litigation Attorney specializing in
Land Use and Zoning Law to join our legal team. The successful
candidate will be responsible for representing the municipality in
various legal matters related to land use, zoning regulations, and
environmental compliance. This role requires a strong understanding
of local government operations and the ability to effectively
navigate complex legal frameworks to promote effective land use
policies. Key Responsibilities - Represent the municipality in
litigation related to land use and zoning disputes. - Advise
government officials on land use and zoning regulations and
compliance. - Draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, and
other pleadings. - Conduct legal research on land use, zoning, and
environmental law. - Negotiate and draft contracts related to
municipal land use. - Provide guidance on regulatory compliance and
public policy matters. - Engage in mediation and dispute resolution
processes as needed. - Collaborate with city planners, developers,
and community stakeholders to facilitate land use initiatives. -
Stay current on developments in land use, zoning law, and
environmental regulations. Qualifications - Juris Doctor (JD) from
an accredited law school. - Active license to practice law in the
state of Texas. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in municipal
law, with a focus on land use and zoning. - Strong knowledge of
local, state, and federal land use and zoning laws. - Proven
experience in litigation and dispute resolution. - Excellent legal
research and writing skills. - Strong negotiation and contract
drafting skills. - Ability to work collaboratively with government
officials and community stakeholders. - Knowledge of environmental
law and regulatory compliance is a plus. - For this position, you
must be currently authorized to work in the United States without
