Raytheon Intelligence and Space is seeking an Electrical Engineer Section Manager. This position is located in McKinney, TX. This position will be responsible for leading the High Energy Laser Electronics and Power Engineering section, a team of 15 to 25 engineers in the Advanced Electro-Optics and Lasers Department. The team capabilities including power, analog, digital and firmware. The Section Manager's responsibilities include ensuring that programs are supported and that work products by team members meet technical performance, cost and schedule requirements. Included in this is the responsibility to provide and use enabling tools, best practices and processes for effective and efficient execution of the work scope. The Section Manager will need to support proposals, Gates, and Independent Reviews. The Section Manager will be responsible for the growth and development of their team. The Section Manager will interact frequently with multi-disciplined team leads, Chief Engineers and Program Managers to ensure that team members are meeting the needs of our internal and external customers. Vendor and supplier engagements may be required. The Section manager should be experienced in analog, power, digital, and firmware design and be able to advise and lead engineers. Approximately eighty percent (~80%) of the Section Manager's time will be devoted to program direct work which may include roles such as an Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL), individual contributor, technical reviewer, etc. The Section Manager will need to be a highly effective communicator (both written and verbal), partner, collaborator, leader and a decision maker, as well as a strong advocate for knowledge and best practice sharing, innovation, productivity improvement and diversity in the work force while promoting and enforcing high professional standards. Effective contributions to strategic planning as well as tactical execution are key to overall success. Required Skills: A minimum of 10 years professional engineering experience as a senior electrical Designer with the following demonstrated skills/experience Extensive experience in developing hardware based solutions based on high-level requirements Experience in project team guidance, including technical, budget, staffing and schedule management Familiarity with FPGAs, firmware, analog, power, digital and motion control circuit design Experience with all aspects of closed loop control systems design Familiarity with circuit-card-assembly (CCA) design tools Experience with military designs and design requirements Experience working self-guided in a complex system integration environment, verifying requirements and identifying and correcting defects US Citizenship is required and the ability to obtain a DoD Security clearance within 1st year of employment Experience as a lead (program firmware lead, Hardware lead, IPTL or led a significant hardware development effort) Demonstrated passion for coaching, mentoring and encouraging career development Desired Skills: Extensive experience in developing power/analog/digital/motion control/firmware circuit card assembly solutions Proficiency with CCA design tools including Mentor Graphics Xpedition Extensive knowledge of start-of-the-art techniques in power, motion control and/or analog design Experience with military design requirements including MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-464 Experience with and design of MIL-STD-461 compliant systems and hardware Experience with electrical systems design, error budgets, tolerance allocations and requirements flow-down Experience using DOORs tool for requirements capture and flow-down Experience in cost estimation and metric collection Six Sigma/process improvement experience. Required Education (including Major): Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Desired Education: Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
