Materials Planner will be responsible for leading the process of
consolidating material needs across the M&B network, releasing
purchase orders, coordinating deployment, and managing inventories
of assigned direct ingredient and packaging categories in order to
meet plant production requirements and optimize network inventory
levels. Will provide process ownership for delivering the network's
inventory management strategies while reducing excess materials,
expedited freight, and unnecessary interplant movements. To
complete these responsibilities, this position will optimize the
use of SAP's MRP functionality and leverage the benefits of
centralized ordering (e.g. hitting better pricing tiers) to
optimize inventory and reduce cost. Will work closely with the
Local Materials Representatives to address delivery/supply issues,
handle transitions, and dispose of obsolescence. Will work closely
with WHQ commercialization teams, business ops mangers, etc to
manage transitions and new product launches. Will also act as a
liaison to address systemic material quality concerns and provide
input to Corporate Buyers to optimize contract terms to improve
service and reduce inventory levels. Principle Accountabilities40%
- Use SAP's MRP system to release purchase orders for consolidated
networks needs of raw materials, in order to meet Meals and
Beverage plant production requirements. Leverage centralized
visibility to optimize the balance between Minimum Order/pricing
tiers and inventory Days of Coverage. Maintain updated MRP
parameters to ensure accuracy.40% - Address delivery and supply
issues while upholding network inventory strategies. Work with
Local Material Representatives at the plants to track deliveries
and respond to planning schedule changes, while executing plans to
coordinate interplant transfers or expedite orders as necessary.5%
- Participate in the development, tracking, and reporting of
metrics to ensure overall category objectives are being delivered.
Monitor and rotate inventories to resolve blocked and slow moving
material in order to reduce controllable write-offs and properly
dispose of obsolescence.5% - Act as a liaison with the Local
Material Representatives, Master Data teams, and commercialization
teams to track and coordinate the ordering of new and transitioning
materials.5% - Collaborate with WHQ buyers to provide input to
optimal contract terms. Provide holistic perspective during
supplier calls, act as liaison with Local Material Reps and
Corporate Buyers to address vendor non-conformances, etc.5% -
Undergo training for other categories and take on backup
responsibilities for at least two other Materials Planner
positions.Job Complexity (PROVIDE SEVERAL EXAMPLES OF TYPICAL WORK
RELATED PROBLEMS THAT THIS POSITION IS EXPECTED TO RESOLVE)Manage
up to $10 million of inventory across multiple manufacturing plants
and distribution centers.Purchase raw materials for a network of
plants, balancing MOQs/pricing tiers with optimal days of coverage.
Work with Local Material Representatives to consider space
constraints when placing orders.Comprehend SAP's MRP functionality.
Evaluate/recommend Master Data changes as applicable to ensure
accurate data to optimize MRP functionality and maximize the use of
MRP requisitions.Interface with Supplier, Corporate Buyer and Local
Material Representatives to resolve quality issues. Deploy items in
accordance with established policies and procedures.Adjust
deliveries and rotate material between facilities to respond to
production plan changes. Be able to evaluate cost impact of
expediting and work with planning to make cost effective service
oriented decisions. Gain expertise of raw material categories to
support business objectives. Collect, analyze, and monitor category
specific information to ensure objective are being delivered.
Develop knowledge of commodity characteristics and marketplace cost
drivers.Work closely with cross-functional groups (frequently in
remote locations), including plant- and corporate-level
partners.Work heavily in SAP, Envision, Microsoft Excel, and other
data systems.Be on call after hours and some weekends to resolve
materials availability issues related to assigned category of
responsibility.Perform other duties as assigned.Job Specifications

salary range for this full-time, salaried position is
between$61,800-$97,800Individual base pay depends on work location
